"On July 24th...after Allie finished swimming lessons in Pinawa...Dad, Leah and Allie went to the
Pinawa Dam Provincial Heritage Park to see what Dad had always referred to as 'the old Pinawa dam'.
Opa Grundmann had taken Dad fishing there forty years ago...and Dad later took Olaf and Detlaf there to
do the same. A few summers later Dad, Jerry and Uncle Ken camped and fished there. In those days there
were no parking lots, fences, picnic tables, etc., as the area wasn't designated as a provincial park until 1985."

"As you can see in the following picture, Manitoba's 1st hydro-electric power generating station,
which operated from 1906 to 1951, now welcomes sight-seeing cruises from the town of Pinawa!"

"On their way home, Dad, Leah and Allie stopped by the Seven Sisters Dam, a place where
Dad and Uncle Ken started fishing exactly at midnight on 'opening day' of a few fishing seasons."
