"In April of 1969, Dad quit school (Gr. 11) and took a train to Toronto. He lived with his aunt and uncle for
six months and then in an apartment in downtown Toronto. While there, he worked for the Toronto Star at the
Toronto Star Weekly harbour plant. Fourteen months later Dad returned to Winnipeg. After being 'best man' at
Jerry's wedding in 1971, he returned to Toronto for another 12 months and worked at Empire Paint and Wallpaper
before hitchhiking to Vancouver. He stayed in Vancouver for 2 weeks, then took a train/bus to Caronport where he
basically lived and worked until he and Mom got married. A few years after he and Mom got married, he acquired his
Bach. of Theolgy and Bach. of Education degrees at Providence University College and at the University of Winnipeg."
