"These are some pictures taken at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation fund-raising 'walk'
at Assiniboine Park. Luke and Leah were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when they were 5 and 12
respectfully...and Charlie has been taking insulin for almost 2 years. Charlie collected $2483.00 in JDRF
pledges before he, his family, extended family members and some of their friends attended the event on June 11."
"Just before the 'walk' started, Charlie was treated to a surprise: his teammates on the Manitoba Stallions hockey team,
of which he was captain in 2017, also came to the event...along with their coaches...with hats and t-shirts for all players!"
"The JDRF event was awesome...great walking weather, stage music/dancing, 'bouncers', special guests,
lots of free food (hot dogs, chips, juice)...and even a girls-boys 'dance-off', which the boys won, of course!"
