"Grandpa Wayne turned 74 on October 15th. That afternoon my Dad picked him up at 1:15 pm
and they went fishing off the shore of the Red River near Selkirk. They returned to Pineridge Road
at 6:30 pm so Dad could get ready for his hockey game. He and Mom gave Grandpa two containers
of leftover meatballs and cooked rice...and some garden-fresh tomatoes...before Dad took him home."

"Around 9:30 pm, Auntie Sharla picked up Grandpa and gave him five containers of frozen, home-
made soups and a new watch...and then took him to the nearby McDonald's to buy him a late supper."

"A few days later, Auntie Leah and cousin Allie picked up Grandpa and took him
to Costco. They had supper, shopped around for a bit, then Grandpa took the bus
to McIvor Mall to spend some of the e-transfer cash gift that Auntie Leah sent him."
