*** 'Spring Break' 2020 ***

"Sharla, Cory, Will, Charlie and James spent 'Spring Break' at their cottage in Grindstone Provincial Park.
Maintaining sensible social-distancing and washing their hands as much as possible because of COVID-19,
they enjoyed the great mild weather and also had fun with some of their cottage friends during that week."

"Charlie helped his Mom cook the pickerel that Dave and Linda, their Keedian Drive
neighbours, had caught and given them after spending the previous week at their cottage."

"On Monday, March 30, Grandpa Wayne drove out to Grindstone Provincial Park to bring some munchies,
back ribs and Tim Horton's donuts...and to enjoy an hour of coffee and conversation on that beautiful afternoon!"

("Sharla made, cooked and served perogies with the back ribs for supper a few days later.")

"After enjoying the pickerel a week earlier, Sharla and the boys joined a few cottage
friends to go ice-fishing. Almost everyone that went on March 31 caught their limits!"

("Oops...I forgot to mention that one of Sharla's friends caught a pickerel
that measured 29 inches, thus qualifying for Manitoba's Master Angler Award!")

"Granny Norrie drove out to Grindstone Provincial Park for a couple of days to
spend time with Sharla and the boys...and to enjoy home-made scones for breakfast!"

"A few days of abnormally warm, sunny weather didn't last long.
On Wednesday, April 1st, snow came...and winter returned!"

"Luke, Carla, Kain and Keona had a rather hectic 'Spring Break'.
Luke maintained his computer business from home, while completing
renovations to their pantry, which was started about a week earlier."

"Carla was usually busy picking up important food items on her way
home from work and maintaining online communications with friends."

"Kain was asked to interrupt his video games numerous times to help transport old cabinet pieces
from the pantry to the utility trailer...and Keona was responsible for screening new kids' movies on the iPad."

("I forgot to mention that Kain and Keona had to forfeit their fun activities
for almost an hour one afternoon because their Grandpa Wayne brought sundaes
for them. Luke joined along because Dad brought him coffee from Tim Horton's.")

"Click here to watch a video that Luke took when the mild, sunny weather changed a few days later."

"Leah and Allie also had a busy 'Spring Break'!"

"Leah mostly worked during 'Spring Break' or played Barbies with Allie when she wasn't working."

"When she wasn't playing Barbies with her Mom, Allie continued building puzzles that
she started a week earlier. She also made sure that her Granny Norrie wasn't bored: she
helped her start some necessary furniture painting which was finished the following week;
she helped her decorate some trees in her yard; she encouraged her to make healthy desserts,
including rice pudding...and she persuaded her Granny to do some 'home-schooling' with her."

("Did you notice Allie's signature on the left page above, the second
entry from the top under the 'butterfly' picture that she drew?")

"Allie also made sure that her Granny kept the fire going so that she and her
cousin Keona could keep warm when she came over for a visit the next day."

"Click here to watch Biking #2 video."

("No biking anywhere the next day!")

"Dad/Grandpa Wayne had a fairly uneventful 'Spring Break'. Other than going to the
grocery store when necessary...and making one-time trips to Grindstone, Deacon Road
and Durness Bay to deliver treats...he was at home mostly watching hours of news while
meticulously organizing and resizing pictures before uploading them on this web page! "
